Black History Month: Will Smith

Will Smith is  an actor, producer, and rapper. He has hit every aspect of acting by being in movies,television shows, and even local theater. In the late eighties he achieved modest fame as a rapper under the name The Fresh Prince, than in 1990, his celebrity status climaxed dramatically when he starred in the popular television series the Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. The show ran for nearly six years. Then a year before The Prince’s end, he landed a role on the blockbuster film, Bad Boys. After a continues reign of movie hits he became  the only actor in history to have eight consecutive films gross over $100 million in the domestic box office as well as being the only actor to have eight consecutive films in which he’s starred open at the #1 spot in the box office .Most like his television alter-ego on The Prince Of Bel-Air, he was too born and raised in west Philadelphia. With his charming and smooth style in school resulted in the nickname “Prince”, which eventually turned into the “Fresh Prince”. While he was a teen Smith began rapping and eventually began working with Jeff Townes (A.K.A. DJ Jazzy), he also played Jazz , Will’s good friend on The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air. To this date he has over twenty-five movie credits, produced more than twelve films and wrote two. He also has four recorded albums. He is a movie-icon, a legend, and over all a phenomenal actor, and producer, who’s acting career will continue to grow for years to come.
